You do not have to be flexible to do yoga. Poses are adaptable and the practice is achievable for ALL bodies.

Following a back injury in my early thirties, I decided to give yoga a try ... and have been practicing now for over 20 years!
It has transformed my life; not only physically but mentally as well, bringing me peace and contentment when I needed it most. This was my motivation to become an instructor.
I received my Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 500 hr certificate from Akasha Yoga Academy that is located in Bali, Indonesia. This program taught me advanced breath and movement techniques as well as meditation.
In addition to my studies with Akasha, I've taken Reiki training and a Trauma Sensitive Yoga Teacher Training program with Kellie Dearman at Aware Yoga.
The yoga that I teach is a gentle style called Hatha, but you could also experience elements of vinyasa, restorative, yin and meditation, with modifications and adaptations provided as needed.
The classes are designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all, and we strive to create a safe and supportive space for everyone to practice.

Invest in yourself and sign up for a session. Cost is based on total number of classes in a session which is usually 7 to 9 classes.
Drop ins are available if there is space ($18).
A one-on-one class can be customized to your unique needs. This is a fantastic option if you've always wanted to try yoga.
Reiki is a technique using universal healing energy to gently facilitate the release of stress, tension and promote deep relaxation.
Reiki is offered as a complementary therapy in a number of hospitals as a treatment for stress, PTSD, and insomnia, people undergoing surgery, or chemotherapy, among other things. Here's an interesting CBC article if you want to learn more.
